Built in a mere five years (1243-1248), Saint Chapelle was designed to celebrate France and its kings and to hold some of the more significant Christian remains, including the Crown of Thorns. Nicola Mezey looks at the architecture, sculpture, stained glass and setting of this most exquisite shrine.
