Continuing our highly-successful Saturday evening concerts at St Joseph's Church in Guildford, we are delighted to welcome Bryon Johnston to play for us on Saturday 26th October at 7.30pm.
Bryon Johnston is a virtuosa guitarist who breaks new ground with his award-winning guitar shows. Byron's performance is a departure from traditional guitar recitals as he brings a modern take on guitar performance. In 'Appassionata de la Guitarra' Byron gives audiences an intimate view into the breath-taking technique behind the solo acoustic guitar. He pays tribute to famous evocative genres, from fiery Spanish Flamenco, to modern interpretations of Classical themes and the latest in modern techniques where one man with a guitar will sound like a band of five.
Supporting Byron will be Eleanor Turner, a passionate ambassador for the harp and its music. She is an international prize-winning artist who has performed from Shanghai to New Orleans and is a leading expert in contemporary music.
The evening promises to be quite extraordinary by bringing together these two great artists and comparing their different styles, music and instruments in the amazing acoustics of St Joseph's Church.
