Blackheath and Bramley Choral Society present a performance of Joseph Haydn's
Missa Sancti Nicolai (Mass) and Michael Haydn's Missa pro Defunctis (Requiem)
These most enjoyable works were both written in 1772 and are a fascinating
comparison between the two brothers' musical skills. Both brothers were highly
renowned during their lifetime and benefitted from Royal patronage. Michael
Haydn's Missa also had a strong influence on Mozart and was an important model
for his later famous Requiem.
