One of the best-kept secrets of Edwardian Theatre is the mercurial figure of Harley Granville Barker. Not only a talented actor with matinée idol looks, but the co-creator of a blueprint for the National Theatre seventy years early, and an Ibsen-inspired playwright who, with Bernard Shaw, shaped the form of British drama. As the director of the most provocative Royal Court theatre fifty years before “Look Back In Anger”, he also wrote books about Shakespeare and the practical aspects of staging plays. Oh, and he is fought over by two women: Lillah, the beautiful English actress, and Helen, the rich American heiress.  But why has nobody heard of him? Join the elite who share the secret of “The Man who was Theatre”. Written by Lynda Strudwick. Directed by Jack Lynch. Read by professional actors.
