The Four Seasons with Paul Galbraith.
An online concert followed by a live Q and A with an international acclaimed guitar soloist.
Paul Galbraith is internationally renowned as one of the foremost guitarists of our time. His revolutionary approach to guitar playing has made him an instantly recognizable figure in classical music, but it is ultimately his interpretative breadth which has captivated audiences the world over.
“Paul Galbraith has something near genius.”
— Classical Music
Paul says: "This is a programme which, due to the broad stylistic survey it encompasses, can with some legitimacy, be entitled ‘The Four Seasons’. Only the order has been scrambled: beginning with Bach as ‘Spring’, we progress through ‘Winter’, then ‘Summer’ and end up in ‘Autumn’, the season of the Romantic era.
The so-called ‘Brahms Guitar’ that I play (and invented, together with luthier David Rubio - he it was who gave the guitar its admittedly quirky name) was in fact originally conceived as a broad- ranging instrument for all ‘seasons’ of repertoire.
I play like a cellist not, as might easily be assumed, in order to be a surrogate cellist but simply because the posture provides me with freedom of movement in both arms. It’s also very comfortable!"
